Looks like Twitter are doing something about them, but I think that we need a clear definition of the procedure needed to report them, whether they’re considered spammers, or something else entirely.

I’ve got a number of marketers from the west coast of the United States on mine; considering I’m in the UK, I’m pretty sure I’m outside of their general demographic, and they’re just adding people who start following popular accounts.

It’s like spam spiders search the web for email addresses, except that I get a notification email when they find me. Incredibly annoying.

I know what you mean man. I’ve currently got a reporter from a local newspaper subscribed to my Twitter. I don’t think I’ve posted anything yet really worth anyone’s attention to Twitter… My blog, perhaps, but Twitter no :S .
